Former All My Children star Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo du Pres) and pop singer Fergie are separating after eight years of marriage.
The couple released a joint statement that explains they have kept the upsetting news secret for several months in order for their family to adjust to the new situation.
"With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year," the statement reads. "To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."
Duhamel hasn't been spotted with Fergie in public recently, but he did post a happy family snap featuring their four-year-old son, Axl, back in January to celebrate his eight-year wedding anniversary with his wife.
Fergie also posted a romantic photo to celebrate the special milestone, captioning the beach-side pic, "Happy 8th anniversary to my bae."
Fergie and Duhamel met each other in 2004 and married in 2009. And while Fergie sings that big girls don't cry, we get the feeling plenty of fans just might over this unfortunate marital situation.
