NBC has announced that Passions has been renewed through the 2003 - 2004 season. The announcement came on January 17th from NBC President Jeff Zucker.

After two failed attempts to hold a celebration for soap opera fans on its own, NBC has announced plans to again have a soap opera fan gathering. This time, however, the peacock network has found a partner in the Spanish-language channel Telemundo

Rebecca Hotchkiss) will again step outside her role on NBC's Passions, this time starring this spring in two episodes of the nationally syndicated radio series, The Twilight Zone.

For weeks - possibly months - the fate of Days of our Lives was said to be hanging in the balance as NBC executive and Corday Productions, the owners of Days of our Lives, engaged in talks about the show's future. DAYS has been renewed and Passions head writer James E. Reilly will return to head writing duties at DAYS.

Renowned chimp expert Dr. Jane Goodall has demanded that NBC chief Jeff Zucker immediately stop using BamBam (Precious) in any of Passions' storylines.

It was one year ago this week that
Josh Ryan Evans (
Timmy, Passions) passed away. Evans died on Monday, August 5, 2003 at a San Diego hospital due to complications from a preexisting heart condition. The actor was 20.

Newcomer Heidi Mueller has been cast as
Kay Bennett. While Mueller is a newcomer to daytime television, the actress is no stranger to the NBC television network, Mueller appeared as one of the daughters on the NBC reality series "Who Wants to Marry My Dad?"
