There is no excuse for Babe not immediately telling Bianca that the baby is Miranda. The question of whether or not Babe loves the baby and will care for the child is totally irrelevant. That could be said of many people that want children, well then, just pick a baby out of a hospital and pretend it's your own. It's just plain wrong, legally and morally. One note, Paul Kramer is unfortunately alive and well in Llanview. Krystal continues to pressure Babe into keeping the baby as her own. No longer can Krystal's excuse be because she wants to save Babe the anguish of losing a child. Krystal has always had her own agenda and it has nothing to do with loving her daughter. Talk has it that Tad and Krystal will be paired together long term. It would be completely out of character for Tad to forgive, forget and love the woman that caused his family so much pain by switching the DNA test. Krystal continues to stand by Babe's side and act sad. Excuse me --- how hard is it to say to Bianca "This baby isn't Bess - it's your precious Miranda"? If Babe had done it without delay she could have been forgiven, but now it's truly an unforgivable sin. Babe and Krystal should leave PV far behind. Babe's baby that's in Llanview should have a legitimate DNA test to see who the father is and then be returned to the rightful father as Babe is not fit to raise a child.
I've heard from several people out there that want to liken Krystal to Opal when Opal first showed up in PV. Similar accents, dress, and background. This amuses me because it is far from the truth. You'd never see Opal wearing that tacky red dress to her own daughter's wedding. Opal really loved her daughter, Jenny. Granted Opal didn't mind that Jenny was in love with a rich guy, Greg Nelson, but she would have supported Jenny's love no matter who it was. Krystal wants to manipulate her child, Babe, into what Krystal thinks is best. Opal was never a slut while Krystal will sleep with anyone in order to get her way. Opal held the cards about Langley's true identity and used them to her advantage, but she thought she was in love with Langley. I wonder how long it will be before we find out Krystal has other children that she's lied about or has just forgotten to mention from one of her many liaisons. Perhaps AMC should go down the road of Krystal dying of a STD. That's realistic.
Why exactly are people roaming around the tunnels in the Chandler mansion? Candles are there to light the way for Krystal and Tad. Krystal collapses in Tad's arms. It's all too contrived. Krystal decides Tad is the man for her and gives Dr. David the brush off. Definitely her loss! This may be the most outlandish rumor I've heard to date. David will do a DNA test on Miranda, find out her true identity and also find out that he is Babe's father. Considering David's been completely oblivious to knowing Krystal and Krystal knowing him this would be totally unbelievable. The only way this could be pulled off is if Krystal isn't Babe's mother, but then did she kidnap Babe as a baby? Did Babe's real mother die and Krystal just take over? Too implausible --- even for a soap! I can only hope this rumor is a complete fabrication. Another rumor is that Mark Dalton (Erica's half-brother) will be Babe's father. This would make Babe and Bianca cousins. I don't believe Mark would have ever sunk that low to sleep with Krystal. I know he's due back in PV for a couple of days in July but please don't let there be a Krystal connection. If he is Babe's father let's hope he gives her some much needed parental guidance.
Bianca is supposed to be Babe's best (only) friend yet Babe just goes on hurting Bianca. This isn't much of a friendship. Kendall tries to interrupt the wedding, but should learn when to speak and when to hold her tongue. Kendall is always crying wolf and sometimes it's best to let the wolf think he has the upper hand. Ryan may be professing his love for Greenlee but he's kissing Kendall like he's interested. They keep saying the same old lines over and over. It's painful to watch. Now that Kendall knows Ryan and Greenlee's marriage is a scam will she rise above it and not be mean and spiteful? Suellen's Fan Spotlight comes from Lisa in Mesa, AZ: "I am really disgusted with Kendall. She has become completely desperate and unlikable. If the writers are not careful, they will send JR in that direction too. Both roles are played by very good actors, but how many characters like this do we need? There doesn't seem to be many people left in PV with any sort of conscience or ethics. I am upset that JR wants to kill his wife. I've actually grown to like Babe a bit, and I hope she can redeem herself....." I don't think Babe can be redeemed as she is at a point of no return.
I find it strange that Travis and Barbara's other children haven't been there for Bianca since all of this turmoil began. Bianca grew up with them and they were close so why wouldn't they keep in touch? Another oddity is that Edmund is paralyzed and could have died, yet there's been no mention of Dimitri. I miss Dimitri a great deal.
Erica continues to play the poor, poor, pitiful me card and it's past time for this plot to come to an end. We saw someone recognize Erica, but Zach stepped in, comp'd the person's stay as well as giving them $10,000. This is just ridiculous and unbelievable. What connection is Zach going to have with Pine Valley? Zach determines Erica has a drinking problem and cuts her liquor off. Erica either needs to go back to PV and behave herself or stay away forever so Erica Kane can be a fond distant memory for AMC. We also have Erica talking about her girls. This is ironic as Erica had basically no input in the raising and upbringing of her daughters. Erica has always been an unfit mother which is why Travis was able to get custody of Bianca so easily. In essence, Erica has never been there for anyone other than herself. Bianca is making the effort to reconcile since she called Erica. We'll see how far that takes her.
New people were introduced this week with a new Isabella Santos. I don't know why this recast was necessary. I wasn't that fond of the old Isabella but the new one is worse. I've heard that the hunt is on for a new Rosa Santos as well. A new Lily was launched and I find it extremely difficult to believe that Lily's teacher would have left Lily there with Reggie without getting/having parental supervision. Instead Reggie and Lily get to fend for themselves. Danielle shows up and is her usual jerk self. They have made this character very unlikable and I don't know understand it. Why exactly wasn't Reggie at the wedding with Jackson and why wasn't Jackson answering his phone?
More rumors on Ryan's brother coming to town. This is supposedly a new sibling we've yet to meet. As far as this guy being Chris Stamp's child, I would find that highly unlikely. Chris made it clear back when he was talking with Ryan that his love affair with Ryan's mother didn't continue. This would mean either Ryan's mother had another affair or she had other children with her abusive husband.
May was supposed to be sweeps month but was more like sleeps month with the boring and repetitive plots and dialog. We had Ryan get married to someone he doesn't love again --- this time as a business deal --- a sexless marriage which the SEC is checking out --- shades of Gillian and the INS. AMC doesn't get it. There are so many talented actors and actresses that are just not being used. Julia Barr is continually ignored as she is not utilized in any storyline. While I was flipping stations on the radio the other day, I heard the song "Every Breath You Take" by the Police and it brought back memories of when the psycho Harold kidnapped Brooke and held her captive while Harold played that song repeatedly. It brought a smile to my face at how good AMC used to be. With the current AMC writers it seems impossible to get back to great plots and utilization of many of the fine long term characters already introduced to PV. The new credits have Mia's picture in them which I think is odd since she's leaving the show very soon.
Last Sunday one of my rescued pound doggies caught a cat in our yard. Yes, physically caught it in his mouth. He was trained to hunt and retrieve before we rescued him, a talent which is totally useless now. We had to make a trip to the emergency room with the cat as it was in shock and we didn't know if it was hurt or not. Lots of blood everywhere! An expensive trip, but luckily our dog didn't hurt the cat and the cat only scratched our dog's ear. The cat was tested for HIV and leukemia and both were negative. Now we are trying to find a good home for this kitty. It's a young boy kitty that we've named Boots for the time being as he is black with pretty white paws and gorgeous white whiskers. We definitely can't keep him as our dogs are not cat friendly in the least. Please wish us well with finding a nice place for this young, homeless, abandoned kitty.
